A board certified pediatrician, Dr. Levey received his doctorate of medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey after completing pre-med requirements at Columbia University and earning a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tulane University. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at Cooper University Hospital, and later served as Associate Director of Inpatient Pediatrics at Virtua Voorhees before working in a variety of private practice settings.
Prior to joining Advocare Greentree Pediatrics, Dr. Levey founded KidsWell Pediatrics in 2010 where he practiced, and still practices, an integrative approach to pediatrics. Integrative medicine is a style of practice that emphasizes being healthy and staying well rather than only curing the sick. When children have an issue for which they need medical care, then Integrative Medicine allows us to try multiple effective and evidence-based non-drug interventions that often help us avoid prescription medications. Integrative Medicine is a whole person based approach to healthcare, and focuses on taking care of people and promoting wellness, but does NOT deny the life-saving and evidence-based efficacy of standard medical interventions like vaccines. Dr. Levey believes that within the next ten to fifteen years Integrative Medicine will be the primary way medicine will be practiced in the USA.
Dr. Levey is a long time student and practitioner of nutrition and Integrative Medicine, has been a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Integrative Medicine since 2008. He has earned advanced (Master's Degree level) certifications in Advanced Integrative Nutrition, Advanced Mind-Body Medicine, and Advanced Healthcare Education and Leadership. Dr. Levey studies (and continues to study) at the Marcus Institute of Integrative Health, part of the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Jefferson University.
Dr. Levey also treats PANS and PANDAS, is the only pediatrician within 50 miles to do so, and has consulted with patients as far away as Hawaii to help with these problems.
